I'm letting my companion down...
I like to think of books and information as my companions. Especially when it comes to creating media and art. Anne actually noted that I like "companions". She is correct. I like books and information because they create a basis for my work.
Reading the Origin of consciousness has been very interesting, but I’m finding that it speaks to a lot of modern day bicameral theories. Thus, I’ve decided to read specific chapters that speak only about consciousness and what it is. If I had more than five weeks to complete my film, I would definitely devote all my time to this book.
That said, I’ve decide to really simplify my film to be about these topics:
1. The meaning of consciousness
2. where does consciousness come from
3. perhaps some of the general misconceptions of consciousness
4. Consciousness confused with reactivity/less conscious with habitual lifestyle.
I somehow feel that consciousness is best represented through time and space….thus I want to play around with time lapses. This weekend I plan to shoot a time lapse in Seattle.
I plan on having a voice over.
This voice over will be some sort of poetic/creative writing that will deal with the journey of finding consciousness.
I plan to do silly street interviews of where people think consciousness comes from…I guess the problem is that I myself am a bit fuzzy on the subject matter—also because my film will only be a couple of minutes long I should really narrow it down….Maybe I should solely explore where consciousness comes from…
I donno!!!! I have a lot of work!!!!!
