I know what you did this spring break!
Having torn down the lab set i couldn't help but think i would never get a chance to shoot jellyfish in such controlled circumstances.
What other college could i get an entire lab to myself, and then kidnap a kreisel tank and fill it with jellies for no scientific reason what so ever?
Evergreen rules!
I also knew that the HVX200 was sitting around, hoping to be used by an eager student such as my self.
I filmed this in 1080P, and then shrunk it to fit on youtube...three hours upload time!
Jed Smith and Galen helped me catch some more ,exotic, larger Jellyfish, and i filmed again this Friday.
In a technical note, the HD camera when used with the fire store, is quite a cumbersome device and is almost a step backwards from the unfriendly DV standard.
HD does reward you with beautiful images, but focus becomes far more important with so many pixels to focus on; it seems inevitable that you must strain your eyes constantly refocusing with a sweaty brow.
70 Gigs of compressed footage later and my DVX footage looks like B movie grade footage, but focused B movie grade footage at least.
