week 9

So it's already week nine and I'm feeling like there are so many rough edges to smooth over before the final screening.... Mickey and I have been discussing how the piece should be opened and closed, but so far nothing is final and this all has to get done this weekend. So I guess I am admitting that I am a little behind the game, but feel confident it could get done in the alloted time we have.
On the other hand, I rewatched one of my favorite documentaries from when I was younger, and was surprised by how cheesy it was and how this seemed to engage me as a viewer. For instance, when somebody would tell a story that had danger in it some really dramatic music would fade in.
I also thought there were ethical problems in this film. The film was about Nico a a pop culture icon and musician who died of a drug over dose. There were a lot of very sensational stories told about her drug habits and I couldn't help to wonder if these stories were being told for profit. Also, she is not around to verify if these stories are true and one person that was interviewed admited that he wrote a book about her for money. I don't know how I feel about a whole film that is about somebody and not have them represent themselves in someway. On the other hand, since she is dead there is not really any way to get around this.
