Past, Present, and Future

So much for weekly entries.

Many of you have probably wondered where I've been this quarter. For those of you who may have worried, I apologize for my lack of attention to this blog.

With the first couple of weeks back in January, I spent all of my time dedicated to preparing myself, my cast, and my crew for the production of this short adaptation. Much of this work had to be done across the state as that is where my shoot would be taking place. With one of my last prepatory treks I was involved in a car accident, totalling my mode of transport for the production. Thankfully I was alright and with some much appreciated support from my little brother (loaning me his car) I could still continue my work. Unfortunately this was hardly the beginning of my troubles. Just as I was heading into my first week of production, preparing my pre-shooting materials to get myself ready for the weekend's work, I ran into an unavoidable personal emergency that demanded my full attention. This situation ultimately cancelled my project for the time being.

I did learn something from all of this though, I've found just how much personal energy and creativity is neseccary to invest in a project, no matter it's size. If a mental and emotional attention isn't present, the project won't function or grow to any interesting level.

Wanting to not dwell on this or make apologies and excuses, I'd like to move on for the time being. I'd like to continue this project later, it's just not the time for it now. So, the rest of my year's participation in SOS is going to be as creative support to Colin's project. He has welcomed my offer to help, and so the two of us will be colaborating for the remainder of the year. We are currently in talks with what this collaboration will look like. I'll be sure to update once we flesh some of these details out.
