OK yes I know I'm filming a documentary, but who said that I can't have scripted content? If everything goes to plan, this Sunday... spring break, should be the shoot for the Samurai/Kendo fight scene I talked about a few weeks ago. Justin will be coming down with me as a second cameraman, so that will be 4 cameras, a simple fight scene derived from classic Japanese cinema, a couple of Kendo students, a samurai, and hopefully a sunny day.

Some checks on the other factors in this film:

Filmed interview with Rev. Koichi Barrish at the Tsubaki Grand Shrine of America

Filmed partial interview with Daryl Morgan

Filmed class projects on Japanese's architecture

Filmed potential construction material for the gate

Filmed various joint demonstrations that will be used in the construction of the gate

Will be filming the various potential sites for the gate

Will be filming scripted introduction to the documentary

Next quarter:

Filming the construction and final setup of the gate

Why next quarter? Thats how the class is moving, hopefully by mid Spring quarter we will have the gate mostly built and test fitted. The final setup and blessing of the gate may have to be filmed after or days before the screening of the film. If its just days before, I may be able to add the last bit of footage. Lets just say I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
