Loving Cameras!

I spoke too soon -- just got proficient and have been playing with the DVX and love it! So much more creative and artistic freedom. I would definitely recommend getting proficient if you're not and giving it a whirl. Might as well use the best equipment available -- since your tuition/tax dollars are paying for it (or, if you're like me, and paranoid you'll never be able to afford picking up a camera that nice again).

Very excited about shooting images at the church! Hopefully some good stained glass windows, although I've never been to St. Leo's so I really have no idea. I am using it as B-roll to go over Ann's letter, I think, although what would really be appropriate would be footage of the Vatican. I am sort of thinking about Simone Bittoun's "Wall" and her approach to filmmaking as a "meditation" -- I would really like to create such slow and rich images that really make people focus and center on the content of Ann's letter. It's a long letter full of such passion and remarkable insight, so I know that if I can get people through it visually, I'll be fine.
