Book Arts

Today is the day we start binding the anthology for Monstrous Possibility, my literary arts and theory program. Using InDesign, we worked as groups to put our individual books together, with each group member getting twenty pages (five 8.5 x 11 folded sheets) to display their writing projects. Merging all our pieces into one giant book, my group decided to call our compilation "Acephale", which means "headless" in Greek.

So today in the Library Underground, we'll learn from our book arts teacher how to bind our anthologies together. The end product will be fifty five hundred-page anthologies with the work of every person in the program. While we put together our booklets, our teacher undertook the arduous task of letter-pressing each one of our covers with the word or symbol that each group chose.

I've never stitched together a book before, so this should be an awesome (and frustrating, I imagine) experience.
