Areas of interest
I am a cultural anthropologist. I have taught for many years, I've traveled with students, and I have conducted research in India, the Ozarks and Alaska. I am interested in mountain communities, local knowledge about and access to resources, and gender issues. I am also interested in social theory and the generation of ideas such as the concepts of sustainability, culture, nature and wilderness.
