I bring an analysis of sustainability to every program I teach, although some programs focus on it more centrally than others.  I am interested in the history of the sustainability concept, how sustainability efforts are linked to climate change, alternative energy technologies, green building, and much more.  I'm interested in ways "sustainable development" continues to get played out in a variety of cultural settings.  Most centrally, however, I am interested in ways individuals and communities can work to interrupt and change behaviors to be less consumptive, more locally based, and creatively enriched.
