Description:

This group serves as a means of connecting the work of the other three planning groups, and acts as an information conduit with the Strategic Planning group. The Hive is a center for synthesizing information, jointly reviewing priorities, building IT visioning, and information filtering for the college. The Hive will help to shape the overall vision of how IT is implemented in the college.

What are the developing issues that campus leadsership have surrounding IT? What are the current issues/projects/initiatives that are bubbling up from various areas on campus that need direction or supplemental funding? How do these get prioritized? These are a few of the strategic questions that need to be resolved on a regular basis.

Group Charge:

• Collaborate across areas of common interest/concern
• Review IT Strategic Plan; prioritize major projects and make recommendations to the Strategic Planning group.
• Participate in the development of, and assist in implementing, IT policies
• Push information to other IT groups for implementation/research
• Push information/recommendations to Strategic Planning group about new IT priorities and initiatives that need to be added to the IT Strategic plan.
• Resolve any issues that can’t be resolved other levels
• Evaluate effectiveness of how well the IT Strategic Plan has been implemented.
  
  
  

Objectives for the 1^st year:

1. In conjunction with the other IT groups, develop effective process (and associated systems) for communication and collaboration with the other IT groups, faculty and students.
2. Review Strategic plan and incorporate recommendations from other IT groups to be presented to the community.
3. Prepare major IT budget initiatives for the 05-07 biennium in time for campus budget planning activities
4. Address planning issues between other groups
