Lab Upgrade Workgroup
This is a group to develop a strategy for updating and maintaining a sustainable computing environment for computer labs institution-wide. The goal is to develop a strategy and ongoing plan for keeping the computer labs functional and up-to-date.
This group will establish which labs on campus fall under the perview of this process and submit annual requests for funds from Academics to upgrade areas in the greatest need. This process applies only to computer clients that are directly available for use by students. This process does not provide for the consideration of peripheral hardware, servers, application software, or any other equipment that is not directly accessilble by students.
Generallly, this workgroup is addressing Strategic Plan Goal 2.3 "Coordinate the evolution of technology teaching and learning environments and intrastructure to ensure that they continue to meet the needs of the curriculum." More specifically, this is addressing strategy 2.3.4; "Evaluate resource allocation strategies (lab upgrades) to ensure efficiency and a direct connections to the curriculum."
