Paul McMillin, Rip Heminway, Amy Greene, Erik Ordway, Aaron Kruse, Peter Randlette, Richard Weiss, Joe Pollock

Rip/Paul - Communication tools/strategies. Redesign website? add blog functionality as a communication and information sharing tool. Take to the Core to change/update the ITCH site entirely. Change front page of the ITCH to be story type and promote current content to be sticky story at the top.

Peter - CCAM update Walls and floors are going in May 15. Witness diagrammatic explanation of how we pipe down 1.5Gb data flow to a managable size/pipe. Trying to determine best universal high-res output format that can be adopted for the campus. Peter and his group are testing formats with standard web formats for folks to provide feedback. CCAM equipment is funded through academics (~$750,00). Peter will forward web site and testing site to group. Issues around copyright starting to rear its head again. ccam.evergreen.edu. [1]

Also will have a digital cinema center. Will target some existing AV classroom to retrofit to do HI-RES.

Joe - Network Testing Google appliance is in the machine room.. but not plugged in yet.
3 weeks of testing so far. Now up to 40mbs. Resnet, Public, wireless are proportioned. Public and wireless running very much like Resnet (p2p, gaming, etc.. throttled). Average data rate is ~ 20-21 and peaking at 40. Better graphs and positive reports on general accessibility and web browsing capabilities across most subnets. Will possibly increase individual allocations but this will be determined. Limewire uses SSL protocol now that is much tougher to track. This is a new area of moving copyrighted materials.. been getting more calls from RIAA since the pipeline has been opened up.

Miriam is working on campus policy around dealing with copyrighted information being moved around the campus which would apply to RIAA inquiries.

Paul/Peter - DOR/new library catalog update . Will the library be purchasing Content DM? The DOR grant this is about looking at formats, storage, and network expectation around this resource, but no DOR will be created as part of this project. Partnering with campus Archivist as a starting place to develop a campus-wide standard for archive.

Summit (consortium borrowing system) vendor changed cost structure so we are dumping them for OCLC this summer. A technology group will be working with "the Alliance" to move to the new consortium product.

Erik - Weather Station
update Campbell scientific weather station on soccer field - facilities will eventually use to measure ET for smart watering. Not online yet but will update group soon to let folks know when data are online.
