Minutes:

Facilitation/coordination for 2008-09 - Future of Academic ITCH (Rip)
Proposal to merge the Academic ITCH with the Core, and to use the time to create a Lab Coordinators meeting to regularly checkin on lab management issues, hardware, software, uses, upgrades, etc.. Will need to determine a facilitator (Greg Stewart, Isaac Overcast?) Meetings can be less structured around standard governance times. Larger scale Academic issues would move to the Core. We will bring to the attention of individuals who have a vested interest in these topics on campus.

Copyright (Joe).
Hot topic, needs to be sent to the Core for discussion. We need to have a campus-wide discussion around how we're managing copyright issues in regard to technology. Rip to forward to the Core.

Network Report (Joe)
Could be throttled to 30MB/s and fit the needs that are being met currently given the way the network is being managed. Network Services will be looking at setting up standard network speeds for fall and will be financing it internally.

The Academic ITCH meets tomorrow (Wednesday, May 21) and the tentative agenda will be as follows;

Lab software

Lab software licensing for fall
Most areas moving to Leopard for Fall 2008. iLife 08 ordered. Not moving to new office suite in either Windows/Mac
Open office 3 out in Beta, will be installing sometime next year.
Quicktime in the computer center?
TSS will be purchasing machines with Vista but loading XP until the last moment, although they're starting to send out machines with Vista anyways.
TSS testing office 2007 this summer
