Below are Spanish language resources available at the Language Lab, at Evergreen, and online.

Rosetta Stone

The Language Lab has Rosetta Stone software for Spanish Levels 1, 2 and 3. Learn to speak, read, and write on your own or supplement your textbook with this total immersion program. We have only one license for each level, so call (360) 867-7020 to reserve a computer, or contact a lab aide via email.

Conversational Spanish!

Starting Spring quarter there will be a conversational Spanish group that meets every Monday from 4-5pm.

Digital Dialects has loads of animated activities and games that are intended to provide a relaxed way of acquiring basic language skills, and a great break from the books!

Don Quixote.org has lots of great resources:  weekly exercises sent by e-mail, a verb conjugator, dictionary, jokes, lyrics, grammar, links to Spanish-language media, and more.  It's free to become a member; pruebelo!

Fodor's Useful Phrases for Travel

Fodor's Travel Guide has created an online phrasebook of useful expressions.  Click on a language and select the kinds of phrases you'd like to work on such as greetings or dining out.  Listen to sound files to perfect your pronunciation, and you'll know how to find a bathroom in no time.

Grammar Exercises

Barbara Kuczun Nelson at Colby College has compiled a ton of grammar exercises with sound files. Practice verb conjugation, adjectives, whatever. There are also guided reading study modules with sound files! Perfect for supplementing your textbook or for independent study.

Internet Polyglot

Internet Polyglot is an online flashcard system which uses games and drills designed to help you retain vocabulary.  Build your own lessons, steal from other users, or use the ready-made sets.

The Continuing Education Department at the University of North Dakota has compiled a list of keyboard shortcuts and PC and Mac configuration tips for typing in Spanish.

Language Guide

Language Guide introduces language learners to vocabulary through sound, pictures, and writing so that every new term is reinforced visually and aurally. If you are just starting out or want to supplement the vocabulary in your textbook, the clustering of the vocabulary into categories like numbers or body parts makes it easy for you to find what you want to work on.
